Just in time for this year's world-wide commemoration of the Holocaust on Thursday, May 1, Yad Vashem, the worlds largest repository of information about the Holocaust, has launched two video channels on YouTube, one in English, the other in Arabic. Channels in other languages are to be added soon. The channels are dynamic with new videos added frequently. Testimonies of survivors, footage of visits to Yad Vashem of world leaders, historian's lectures and archival footage will be presented. As of today, the English channel presents 28 videos, the Arabic one 17.

YouTube is one of the world-wide most popular websites. The new channels will counter much misinformation about the Holocaust on the Internet and deliberate lies, used in antisemitic propaganda. Avner Shalev, Chairman of Yad Vashem, said that "the Yad Vashem channels will counter this material with reliable information to anyone who seeks to know more about this terrible chapter in human history. By meeting the survivors through their testimonies and viewing the foremost experts in the field address difficult questions, viewers will be able to connect on yet another level to this pivotal and defining event."
