The Face of God after Auschwitz, Amsterdam: Polak and van Gennep, 1965

A restively early collection of sermons and addresses, much criticized, in response to the Shoah, in which Maybaum argues that the Shoah should be seen as continuous with previous disasters in Jewish life, e.g., the Exile in Babylon and the destruction of Jerusalem. The Holocaust was, he suggested, the third charban somehow purifying and renewing the Jewish community for God's future purposes.
