Walker organizes this book from a very interesting perspective. He wants to present his understanding of how the authors of the Christian Scriptures, primarily the Gospel writers and Paul, understood the place of Jerusalem: its importance and centrality (or lack thereof) in their presentation of the life and message of Jesus, and the place of Jerusalem in the subsequent carrying of the "word" to the nations.
