Further program details and a registration form for the conference to be held by the International Council of Christians and Jews in Sydney, Australia, July 8-11, 2007, are now available. The conference is being jointly hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Councils of Christians and Jews, with the theme "Healing a Broken World: The Faiths Working Together."

This is the first time the ICCJ annual conference, which customarily meets in Europe, will be held in Australia. Program sessions will be at the Eric Caspari Conference Centre of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, with housing provided in a nearby hotel or at Shalom College, an on-campus residential facility sponsored by the Jewish community of Sydney.

The conference will open with an address by Prof. Marie Bashir, Governor of New South Wales, with a traditional Aborigine ceremony as part of the festivities. Program sessions will include topics such as "Tolerance and Pluralism: The Way Ahead," "What Can Religion Contribute to Healing in the Middle East?" and "Awe in the Universe: The Dialogue Between Faith and Science." Speakers and workshop presenters will include scholars and leaders from Europe, Israel, and North America as well as Australia and New Zealand. The closing address will be given by Cardinal Idris Edward Cassidy, former President of the Pontifical Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews.

There is a discounted conference fee available for registrations received by May 10, 2007.
