"Living in the Holy Land" project offers interfaith learning

A curricular project designed to promote mutual understanding and respect between Jewish-Israeli and Arab-Israeli teachers and students offers an introduction to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, focusing on the foundational narratives, sacred literature, faith principles, patterns of worship, behavioral obligations, and life-cycle rituals of each faith.  Developed under the leadership of Dr. Jacobus ("Coos") Schoneveld, Dutch Protestant theologian and former General Secretary of the International Council of Christians and Jews, the project has resulted thus far in the publication of two textbooks, One God and Three Religions and Life Cycles in the Three Religions, each available in both Hebrew and Arabic, with English translations forthcoming.  The program is supported by the European Union and UNESCO, and is associated with the Center for Educational Technology, an Israeli non-governmental organization.
