The International Council of Christians and Jews (ICCJ) has announced that its 2007 International Conference will be held in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, from Sunday through Wednesday, July 8-11, 2007. The theme of the conference will be "Healing a Broken World: The Faiths Working Together."

The 2007 conference, the first such ICCJ event to be held in Australia, will be hosted jointly by the Australian and New Zealand Councils of Christians and Jews. Program planning is being coordinated by Melbourne resident Rabbi Ehud Bandel, a vice president of the ICCJ and a member of its Executive Board. The Governor of New South Wales, Prof. Marie Bashir, AC, CVD, who serves as patron of the New South Wales branch of the Australian CCJ, will officially open the conference.

The main program will be held at the Eric Caspari Conference Centre on the campus of the University of New South Wales, with excursions also to other venues. Special emphasis will be placed on involvement by members of the indigenous community in Australia, as well as the Muslim community.  A Women's Conference will also be held immediately preceding the main conference, July 6-8, on the theme "Women's Role in Healing a Fractured Earth."
