www.jcrelations.net  Appoints New Webmaster and French Language Editor

Dr. Philip Matyszak of Cambridge, England, has been appointed Webmaster of www.jcrelations.net and Prof. Jean Duhaime of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has been appointed French Language Editor.

Dr. Philip Matyszak of Cambridge, England, has been appointed Webmaster of www.jcrelations.net and Prof. Jean Duhaime of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has been appointed French Language Editor.


Dr. Matyszak succeeds Fritz Voll of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, who founded jcrelations.net in 1994. In 2000 Voll turned over ownership and management of the website to the International Council of Christians and Jews, while continuing to serve as Webmaster. He was honored by the ICCJ in 2001 with the Interfaith Gold Medallion "Peace through Dialogue" in recognition of his work in building up the site and establishing contacts with persons and organizations active in Christian-Jewish relations throughout the world.


Philip "Maty" Matyszak has a doctorate in ancient history from Oxford University and is the author of several books on the subject, including most recently Chronicle of the Roman Republic: The Rulers of Ancient Rome from Romulus to Augustus (London and New York, 2003; also available in German translation) and The Enemies of Rome: From Hannibal to Attila the Hun (London and New York, 2004). He also serves as Webmaster for www.cjcr.cam.ac.uk, the website of the Centre for the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations (Cambridge), and operates a distance-learning site on English as a second language. He will be assisted in his work for jcrelations.net by his wife, Dr. Malgosia Matyszak.


Jean Duhaime, the newly appointed French Language Editor, is Professor of Biblical Interpretation in the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies of the University of Montreal. He specializes in study of the Qumran documents (Dead Sea Scrolls) and is the author of numerous essays on the subject as well as a recent book, The War Texts: 1 QM and Related Manuscripts (London and New York, 2004). He has been active in interfaith dialogue for many years and is President of Christian-Jewish Dialogue in Montreal (CJDM). Prof. Duhaime plans to assemble an editorial committee from France, Belgium, and other French-speaking areas as well as Quebec to assist him with the jcrelations work. www.jcrelations.net has sections in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian, with some articles also in other languages. Franklin Sherman of Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA, serves as Managing Editor, working with an international editorial team including Edward Kessler (England), Christoph Muenz and Wolfgang Raupach-Ruprecht (Germany), Markus Himmelbauer (Austria), Yuri Tabak (Russia), Silvia Kot (Argentina), and Peter von Werden (Brazil).
