Jcrelations.net adopts new technology

Effective January 1, 2003, jcrelations.net is using a new, 'dynamic' web technology that makes it easier to maintain and organize the ever-expanding content of the site and is better suited to handle multiple languages.

Currently the site has 174 articles in English, 89 in German, 39 in Spanish, 73 in Portuguese, and 16 in Russian, in addition to numerous reports and statements in various languages. Its increasingly multilingual character is shown by the fact that it has published 'A Sacred Obligation,' the recent statement of the Christian Scholars Group (U.S.A), in all five of the site's basic languages as well as French, Italian, and Polish, and will shortly publish it also in Hebrew.

Along with the new technology, the site has a new appearance. The entrance page gives a choice of five languages, each of which has its own Home page. Within each area (Articles, Bibliographies, etc.), the subordinate categories as well as the other areas are displayed in bars at the top of the page.

In another development, the International Council of Christians and Jews has announced the appointment of Dr. Franklin Sherman of Allentown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., as Managing Editor of jcrelations.net. In this capacity he will oversee the work of the various Language Editors and coordinate the operation of the site. Rev. Friedhelm Pieper, ICCJ General Secretary, remains Editor in Chief.
