ICCJ Appoints Interim General Secretary
Rev. Dick Pruiksma, former chair of the Dutch Council of Christians and Jews, has been named Interim General Secretary of the International Council of Christians and Jews. The appointment, which will be in effect until the election of a new General Secretary at the Annual General Meeting in July 2007, was announced by the President of the ICCJ, Rev. Dr. John Pawlikowski, OSM.
Rev. Pruiksma is a minister of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands, which was formed in 2004 by the merger of two Reformed church bodies and the Lutheran Church in the Netherlands. He served for many years as pastor of a church in Weesp, near Amsterdam, and has a graduate degree in church music. He has been a member of the ICCJ Executive Board since 1998.
The International Council of Christians and Jews has 38 Christian-Jewish and interreligious member organizations in 32 countries. Its headquarters is in the Martin Buber House in Heppenheim, Germany.
