In 2009 the group entered its 10th year as a designated Working Group of the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania. It is associated with the Synod’s Ecumenical Relations Committee, and was formed in response to the 1997 Uniting Church Assembly’s initiative that there be a continuing process of educating the people of the Uniting Church about their relationship with Judaism.
