New Jewish Museum to be Built in Warsaw

Jan 11, 2002 - The Polish prime minister, Leszek Miller, spoke to the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish organizations on Jan 10. He announced the creation of a Jewish Museum in Warsaw that would be built on the site of the old Jewish Quarter in Warsaw and open in four to five years. It will showcase the history of the Jewish community that once flourished in Poland. The architect of the new building will be the American architect Frank Gehry, who is of Polish-Jewish descent.
